According to a report by Neil Davidson of the Canadian Press, middleweight contender Patrick Cote could be sidelined anywhere from six to eight months after he undergoes knee surgery next week.

Cote suffered a reoccurrence of the meniscus-related injury during his title fight last Saturday against Anderson Silva, forcing the bout to be halted and awarded to the champion.
