Randy Couture Wants to Make James Toney Bleed First

After James Toney’s continuous suggestion of him joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship, he finally got his wish.

Toney, the former boxing champion and future boxing Hall of Famer, was signed by Dana White and the UFC to a multi-fight contract.

Just a couple hours after the news was broken to the world, Randy Couture took to Twitter to post his opinion.

Couture tweeted, “I hope I’m the first guy they call to fight tony! [sic] :)

It’s apparent that “The Natural” wants a shot at “Lights Out” Toney, and what a way it would be for Toney to start out his UFC career.

Moments after his first tweet about Toney, Couture tweeted again, “I hope they set me up with tony! [sic] .”

Randy Couture seems to really want this fight, and I think Dana White should set it up. If James Toney wants to fight the best, Couture is his man.

There is speculation that a last-minute card could be set up to battle the Strikeforce event on April 17. This could be bad for Strikeforce, especially if the UFC puts their event for free on Spike.

Randy Couture and James Toney would fight at light heavyweight, as that is the weight class Toney will be competing in. Couture, the elder at age 46, would fight a 41-year-old Toney, so age isn’t a factor between the two.

I think this would be a good fight for Toney to gain some experience in the Octagon, even though he has a very good chance of getting beat, badly.

Keep an eye out for more speculation between these two fighting veterans in the near future.
